Dear Supporters,

We have an incredible milestone to share, all thanks to your unwavering support. Our petition, "Justice For Yap Shing Xuen: Urge Attorney General to Appeal the Bandar Utama School Murder," has officially crossed 6,000 signatures!

Thank you for standing with us and refusing to let Shing Xuen’s voice be silenced. But our fight is far from over.

We want to be entirely transparent with you about why this appeal is absolutely critical and why the current verdict is a definitive loss for justice:

* The Insanity Defense Favors the Perpetrator: Make no mistake—the defense team would never present a strategy that hurts their client. Pursuing a verdict of legal insanity was a calculated legal move designed to protect the perpetrator from the severe criminal penalties of murder.

* Psychiatric Detention is Not Punishment: We must not fall into the trap of thinking that being sent to a psychiatric hospital is a harsh sentence. It completely bypasses the punitive discipline, the gravity, and the lifelong criminal record of actual imprisonment. The defense did not hand the prosecution a win; they achieved exactly what they wanted.

* The Prosecution Has Definitively Lost: Under the current ruling, the murder charge has been dismissed. The state has lost this trial, and if we do not push back now, this outcome will stand as the final word on Shing Xuen's tragic death.

This is why we desperately need the Attorney General’s Chambers (AGC) to step in and file an official appeal. We cannot allow a violent crime to evade standard criminal accountability through retroactive medical defenses.

How you can help right now:
1. Share the petition link again on your WhatsApp, Facebook, and X (Twitter).
2. Tell your friends and family why this loophole matters—explain to them that psychiatric detention is not real justice for a lost life.

Let’s keep the momentum going until the AGC hears our collective voice.
