#JusticeForWinnie: Our 14-month-old pup died while in the care of Elite Performance K9

The issue

Our beautiful dog, Winston, was the joy of our lives and best friend to my little sister. We took him to a dog training facility, and never got him back. He was just 14 months old.

We decided to send Winnie to a doggy behavior program for two weeks because he was a bit of a handful. We searched online and chose a centre based on good reviews online. The day we took him, everything was fine, Winnie was perfectly healthy and the facility appeared very nice.

On day four, I received a call and the lady said that Winston hadn’t been eating for four days - they only bothered informing us after days. She asked for his favourite food and then for days we didn’t hear any updates about his welfare. We wanted to trust the professionals but after a week of no news, we enquired about his health. We were told he’s doing much better now.

But later that day, Elite K9 informed our family that they were taking Winnie to the vet because he had stomach pain and was dehydrated. We wanted to pick him up but were assured he’s fine.

A day later, we received a call that he wasn’t doing well and they’re taking him to the vet. Winnie was supposed to come after that but he never made it home. We had to say goodbye to our beloved pooch at the vet.

When we went to see him, we were shocked to see how much weight he had lost. The vet said that Winnie was clearly sick and should have had medical attention sooner. Our aim is to spread awareness, and assure no other family goes through this.

We also want RSPCA to investiage Elite K9 Nerang of any alleged animal neglect behind closed doors.

We want #JusticeForWinnie.
