The Issue

I was in a relationship with the complainant for approximately one and a half years. During this period, I supported her through her personal and emotional difficulties. After she ended the relationship, I went through severe emotional distress, and shortly thereafter, I also lost my mother.

A few months later, the complainant contacted me, expressed her condolences, and requested financial assistance of ₹5,00,000. Due to my financial constraints, I informed her that I was unable to provide the requested amount.

Approximately two to three months later, I was arrested under Section 376 of the Indian Penal Code based on allegations made against me. I remained in judicial custody for 97 days before being granted bail.

During the investigation, I came to know that, in her Section 161 CrPC statement, the complainant alleged that I had sexually exploited her, secretly recorded videos, and coerced her into withdrawing an earlier case involving another individual. I categorically deny all these allegations. I had no connection whatsoever with the previous accused or his legal dispute.

This case caused immense damage to my life, my family, my career, my reputation, and my mental well-being.

I am sharing my experience not to weaken the rights of genuine victims, but because I know firsthand how devastating a false allegation can be. No innocent person or family should have to endure the suffering that I went through. Every genuine victim deserves justice, but every accused person also deserves a fair, impartial, and evidence-based investigation. I respectfully urge lawmakers to introduce legal safeguards that protect both genuine victims and innocent individuals, ensuring that justice is based on truth, due process, and accountability. If you believe in fairness, equal justice, and the responsible use of our laws, please support this petition.
