PETITION FOR JUSTICE: FREE VERNON WILLIAMS 

in the case of Vernon Williams, who has been incarcerated for 22 years due to a wrongful conviction. His case was handled by Mark Traquilly, the former Deputy District Attorney of Homicide, who, four years ago, was investigated and subsequently charged with criminal negligence.

During the discovery process in Vernon’s case, crucial evidence—including a pair of pants—went missing. Additionally, a witness has since come forward, revealing that Traquilly coerced him into providing false testimony by promising a lighter sentence on his own indictment case. Furthermore, I am in possession of a written statement from another individual confessing to the crime for which Vernon has been imprisoned.

Vernon’s wrongful conviction has not only stolen decades of his life but has also deprived his daughter of the chance to grow up with her father. She was only five years old when he was taken from her, and she has spent her entire life without him. It is time for justice to be served, and for a father and daughter to finally be reunited.

Vernon Williams was wrongfully convicted due to misconduct by corrupt legal officials like Judge Mark Tranquilli, Denis Logan, and others. The courts admitted that his Confrontation Clause rights were violated under Bruton v. United States (1968) but still denied his appeal, claiming it didn’t impact the verdict. How is that justice?

Judge Mark Tranquilli has since been removed for misconduct, proving the corruption at play in Vernons case!

We demand:

A new trial or overturned conviction

 A full investigation into the corrupt officials involved

Clemency from the Governor of Pennsylvania

If this injustice is not corrected, Vernon will remain behind bars for a crime he did not commit. He has missed 22 years of his only daughter’s life, parents and sibling's. Ignoring this case sets a dangerous precedent that courts can admit unconstitutional evidence and get away with it. How many more innocent lives will be destroyed? Corrupt officials like Judge Tranquilli have already been removed for misconduct, showing the need for a full review of Vernons case.

We cannot wait any longer. Every day Vernon remains incarcerated is another day an innocent man is punished for a broken systems failures. Now is the time to act! We demand a new trial, an investigation into corrupt officials, and clemency for Vernon Williams.
