Sharon Thor, my aunt, was murdered 40 years ago in Somerset county. She attended Franklin High School and was only 15 years old. 

40 years ago, in 1982, she received a random phone call right before she had to leave for a ballet class which was something she never missed. Moments later she had told her mother she would "Be right back" and left the Thor home with nothing, that was not like her either. Little did they know that would be the last time they would ever see their daughter and sister alive, it was never like her to just run away from home.

Sharon had gotten into a car in the passenger seat, one man in the driver's seat and the other man in the back seat, sitting behind Sharon, which is not like her as she was not known to get into cars with random people. After this, she never returned home, missing her ballet class for that evening, which was not like her.

It took police three days to find Sharon's body. She was found in a wooded area a quarter mile away from the Thor home, brutally murdered by her assailants. Her clothes were partially removed showing that there could of been sexual assault involved along with two murder weapons found: a cinder block and a 2x4-inch piece of wood.

There are plenty of articles available online about this vicious murder. The FTPD and Somerset County Prosecutors office has proven to me that they are working diligently to get this case solved. There are many things going on that not even I can know right now. They have shown their support and love for my family and that’s all I could ask for. Now, let’s focus on the real task here, solving the case.
