Justice for Teen Victims of Bullying and Violence

The Issue

My daughter Eliyah and her friend Nyemia, both teenagers, have been victims of severe bullying and violence. They have endured in-person attacks and virtual harassment. This past weekend, they were brutally attacked by a mob of teens, many of whom attend Grayson High School. This incident has been widely shared on social media. By the grace of God, they survived without debilitating physical injuries, but the emotional scars are profound. Despite our repeated attempts to contact the school district and the police, we have received no response, and this issue is not being taken seriously.

Bullying affects 1 in 5 students in the United States (National Center for Education Statistics). It is crucial for schools and law enforcement to take immediate action to protect our children from such traumatic experiences.

We demand:

1. Immediate Investigation: The police must conduct a thorough investigation into the attack, ensuring equal treatment for all victims and perpetrators, regardless of race, gender, or age.
 2. School Accountability: Grayson High School and the district must address the bullying culture and implement effective anti-bullying policies.
 3. Social Media Safeguards: Enhanced measures on social media platforms to help identify and stop those responsible for these heinous acts.
