Nearly 50 Years Later, We Are Still Fighting for Answers
On September 18, 1978, my wife, Sandra “Sandy” Miller, was brutally murdered in Nazareth, Pennsylvania.

She was only 22 years old.

Nearly five decades later, her murder remains unsolved.

For all these years, I have lived with unanswered questions—not only about who killed Sandy, but about how her murder was investigated and why so much information surrounding her death has remained out of reach.

I have never stopped searching for the truth.

That search ultimately led me to write The Buried Truth, documenting my experiences, my investigation, and the questions I believe still demand answers.

But this fight is bigger than a book.

This is about Sandy.

It is about a 22-year-old woman whose life was violently taken.

It is about a mother who never had the opportunity to watch her child grow up.

And it is about a murder that should never be forgotten simply because nearly half a century has passed.

WHAT WE ARE ASKING FOR
We are calling upon the appropriate officials and agencies in Northampton County and the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania to provide lawful access to, or a clear legal explanation regarding the status and availability of, records connected to Sandy's death and the investigation of her murder.

We are seeking:

• Lawful access to Sandy's autopsy report and available related coroner records, or a clear explanation of the legal basis for withholding them.

• Information about what investigative records from Sandy's case still exist and which agencies currently maintain custody of them.

• Lawful access to records that can be released under Pennsylvania law.

• Clarification regarding the location and custody of physical evidence associated with Sandy's case.

• Appropriate review of unresolved questions involving the preservation, transfer, and chain of custody of evidence.

• A renewed, meaningful review of Sandy's unsolved murder by the appropriate law-enforcement authorities, including consideration of modern investigative methods and forensic technology.

We are not asking anyone to declare a person guilty based on speculation.

We are asking for transparency.

We are asking for accountability.

We are asking for answers.

And most importantly:

We are asking for justice for Sandy.

If records cannot legally be released, then tell us why.

If records no longer exist, then tell us what happened to them.

If evidence still exists, then tell us who has it.

And if modern forensic science can help uncover the truth about what happened to Sandy, then after nearly 50 years, we believe every reasonable effort should be made to use it.
