The Issue

Demanding Accountability After Hallway Assault at Abraham Clark High School

My name is Rachael Chapman-Williams, and I am the mother of My’Asia Sessoms.

During school hours, on school grounds, in a hallway where adults are supposed to be supervising and protecting students — my daughter was assaulted by four individuals.

Four against one.

This happened inside the building. During the school day. Under the care and responsibility of the district.

No parent sends their child to school expecting them to be attacked in the hallway.

My’Asia is not just a statistic. She is a daughter. She is loved. She deserves to feel safe walking through her school without fear of being harmed.

This assault represents a serious failure in student supervision, safety protocols, and accountability within Roselle Public Schools and at Abraham Clark High School.

As a mother, I am demanding:

1  A full, transparent investigation              into the assault, and all incidents of      My’Asia.
2  Appropriate disciplinary action                for all individuals involved.
3  A clear explanation of where                    staff supervision was at the time of        the incident.
4  Immediate safety reforms to                  prevent this from happening to              another child.
5  Stronger hallway monitoring and          security presence.
6  Protection from retaliation for                victims who speak out.

This is not just about my daughter. It is about every student who walks those hallways expecting to be safe.

Our children should not have to fight for protection in the very place meant to educate and safeguard them.

I am standing up for My’Asia.
I am standing up for every child.
And I will not be silent.

Sign this petition to demand accountability, transparency, and real change.
