Two weeks have passed since my sweet Louie left this world. He was only 2 years old, full of life, love, and joy. Louie wasn’t “just a dog” — he was my family, my heart. What makes this even harder is knowing his life was cut short not by illness, but by negligence. A trusted veterinarian made choices that should never have been made, and because pets are still considered property under the law, there is little to no accountability when these tragedies happen. I’m sharing Louie’s story because I don’t want another family to go through this heartbreak. Our pets are family — we love them, we protect them, we spend thousands to give them the best care.
