Now that We have received & have posted the Police Report-see Update #2-
We encourage everyone to contact Bartholomew County Prosecutor Lindsey Holden- Kay and inquire about the lack of an animal abandonment charge. Pleaselet her know how you feel. 812-379-1670. 234 Washington St. Columbus, IN. 47201 Please be Polite & Respectful.
We encourage prosecutor Lindsey Holden-Kay, Bartholomew County Indiana, to charge and prosecute to the fullest extent of the law, the Dardis family for allegedly breaking the law and dumping and abandoning the 11 month old kitten, Aspen ,5.5 miles away from Aspen’s home. Lee Dardis is the general manager of the Columbus Indiana Menards store, which is next-door to the Walmart where Aspen was reportedly dumped.
With Columbus being an animal friendly community, we need our leaders to stand up and protect the animals of our community and set the precedent that the animals are important members of our community. We need the leaders to step up now so no other defenseless animals have to suffer the same fate that Aspen has suffered.
On 9/5 Aspen was allegedly, trapped and dumped 5.5 miles from home by the Dardis family. The Dardis family coldly stood by while Aspen’s owner Autumn Lee searched the home neighborhood, while over 5 miles away Aspen struggled, lost and alone where she had been dumped.
On 9/10 Autumn contacted the Columbus police department with her suspicions of the Dardis family’s involvement in Aspen’s disappearance.
Reportedly, while speaking with the officer, Breanna Dardis, admitted involvement in Aspen’s disappearance.
When Autumn and her mother attempted to put up posters of Aspen at Menards, which is next door to where Aspen was reportedly dumped, Mr. Dardis called the police on Autumn and her mother.
