The Issue

On March 23, 2026, my younger brother, Ka’Mardre Coleman, was tragically shot and killed. He was only 16 years old, a child with his whole life ahead of him. We are launching this petition to demand a thorough investigation and full legal accountability for those responsible for his death.

The Events of March 23

Ka’Mardre spent his final morning at home, staying back from school due to a headache. He spent the afternoon being productive and helping our mother repair the kitchen. After receiving a phone call from a friend, he stepped out briefly to visit a nearby residence in a NYCHA complex. He never came home.

A Preventable Tragedy

While at that residence, Ka’Mardre was shot at close range in the chest. Reports indicate that the shooter an individual known as "Fendi"aka“Baby 10” was brandishing and "playing" with a firearm. This individual is reportedly the son of an NYPD officer and has been known to openly associate with gang activity and carry illegal weapons.

Our Demand for Justice

My brother was a son, a brother, and a student. He was a helping hand to our mother and a light in our lives. His life was stolen by a senseless act of violence involving a weapon that should never have been in that room.

This petition is vital because it serves as a collective demand for transparency and equal application of the law. When a young life is cut short under such violent circumstances, the integrity of the justice system depends on an investigation that is free from bias or influence, especially when family ties to law enforcement are involved. By signing, you are not only supporting a grieving family in their search for the truth, but you are also taking a stand against the normalization of gun violence and the culture of impunity. Your voice helps ensure that Ka’Mardre Coleman is remembered as a person who mattered, and that his death results in real accountability rather than becoming another overlooked statistic.
