Justice for Innocent Dog Violently Thrown Over a Fence in Anaheim
The Issue
A small, malnourished dog was found in critical condition after a woman was caught on video throwing him over a fence in a plastic bag outside a veterinary clinic in Anaheim.
Surveillance footage shows the dog hitting the ground face-first. When staff found him the next morning, he was bruised, anemic, covered in fleas, and suffering from long-term neglect. His nails had grown so long they curled into his paws.
This is not just neglect. It is intentional cruelty.
While the Anaheim Police Department has confirmed that the woman in the video has been located and interviewed, she has not been arrested. Police say they are working with the Orange County District Attorney’s Office to determine whether criminal charges will be filed.
There is nothing to debate. This act of violence was captured on video. A helpless animal was thrown like trash and left to suffer overnight. If this does not lead to prosecution, what message are we sending about how animals can be treated?
We are calling on the Orange County District Attorney’s Office to file criminal charges in this case. California law recognizes animal cruelty as a crime, and this dog deserves justice. We also urge the Anaheim City Council to review current enforcement policies to ensure that animal abuse is taken seriously and consistently prosecuted.
This dog survived, but others might not. If we do not act now, this kind of cruelty will continue in silence. There must be consequences for those who harm animals.
Sign this petition to demand that charges are filed and that the legal system does its job to protect the most vulnerable.
