cSpeeding Car knocked down a dental intern on March 24 near Taraporewala Aquarium on Marine Drive in Mumbai.The victim, Dipali Lahamate, is NO MORE 

She was going to JJ Hospital Gymkhana to attend convocation of her brother who completed his MBBS.

The accused, Shikha Jhaveri, was driving a Honda City with her daughter seated beside her.

Dipali's kin alleged that it's a hit and run case. The accused was chased by a stranger.

The police at Marine Drive said that sections under which Jhaveri was booked for, are bailable."She was arrested and now out on bail because the sections are bailable," said senior inspector Vilas Gangavne of Marine Drive police station.Meanwhile, Nair Hospital Dental College Student Association has written a Facebook post looking for witnesses in the case.
India Today spoke to Dipali's brother, Dr Abhinay Lahamate, 27, who said that his sister is in a critical condition due to blood loss and is kept on ventilator.

"It was my convocation day as I passed MMBS. She was about to reach when we got a call about the accident. We kept searching for her. She was found in Bhatia Hospital which is far away from the accident spot," said Abhinay.

Dipali's friends said it's a hit and run accident, but the CCTV at the spot is not working. It was due to the eyewitness that the accused was nabbed.

Yazdi Driver, the eyewitness said that Dipali fell on her head and there was a lot of blood loss. "I rushed behind her and overtook her. She came out and started shouting saying my daughter is scared. She was served coffee in the police station. I was sitting at the police station from 3:30 pm till 10 pm for helping the accident victim," said Driver.

The accused, Shikha Javeri, a teacher by profession, resident of Napeansea Road, was released on bail the same day. She was booked for rash driving, causing hurt, and hit and run sections.
