The Issue

We, the undersigned, respectfully request that the court consider granting bond or early release for Darmanick Crawford, who is currently being held at Chatham County Jail on charges of assault and battery.

Darmanick Crawford is known within his community as a respectful, driven, and non-violent individual. He has consistently demonstrated a commitment to personal growth and to positively influencing others, particularly young men. As a social media influencer, he uses his platform to encourage others to stay out of trouble, avoid street violence, and make better life choices.

While Darmanick does have a prior legal matter from approximately three years ago involving a marijuana-related charge, he took full responsibility at that time, accepted a plea agreement, and used the experience as an opportunity to grow and move forward in a positive direction. Since then, he has shown clear efforts to better himself and contribute meaningfully to his community.

There are also concerns surrounding the circumstances of his current charges. Darmanick maintains that the allegations against him are not accurate, and there are serious concerns that he may have been treated unfairly during the process, including claims of being pressured or threatened. These matters deserve careful and thorough review.

At this stage, we are not asking for a final judgment on the case. Rather, we are asking that Darmanick Crawford be given the opportunity to be released while his case proceeds. He has strong community ties, a reliable support system, and individuals willing to ensure he complies with all court requirements, including attending all scheduled appearances.

We believe that continued detention is not necessary and that Darmanick Crawford does not pose a danger to the community. Granting him bond or early release would allow him to maintain stability, continue his positive influence, and adequately prepare for his defense.

By signing this petition, we stand in support of fairness, due process, and the opportunity for Darmanick Crawford to return home while his case is being resolved.

Sincerely,
