We want to update everyone who has signed and shared this petition.
Chad was denied parole again. His next review date is June 2027.
The parole board’s stated reason was that they believe Chad has shown “no remorse.” We need to be very clear about what that means — and what it does not mean.
Chad has consistently maintained his innocence. The parole system often treats a refusal to admit guilt as a lack of remorse, even though the two are not the same. Expressing empathy, accountability, and personal growth does not require a false confession — yet parole boards routinely conflate the two. This creates an impossible position for people who are actively pursuing legal remedies while also seeking parole.
Despite this denial, Chad has continued to:
• Maintain a clean institutional record
• Engage in self-reflection and rehabilitation
• Demonstrate stability, insight, and readiness for release
A parole denial is not a finding of guilt, and it does not erase the serious concerns in Chad’s case that remain unresolved. It does, however, reinforce why transparency, accountability, and independent review matter — especially when parole decisions hinge on subjective interpretations rather than facts.
We are not stopping.
This petition continues to call attention to systemic failures, the misuse of “lack of remorse” as a justification, and the urgent need for meaningful review. Every signature, share, and message keeps pressure on a system that too often operates without oversight.
If you have already signed, please consider sharing this update. If you are new here, please add your name and stand with us.
Thank you for continuing to support Chad and for refusing to let his voice be dismissed.
