Here’s what’s happened so far: We need to urgently bring attention to a serious and ongoing failure in Chad Fry’s medical care while incarcerated. After months in a wheelchair, Chad finally received an MRI that revealed significant knee fibrosis and tears in both the medial and lateral meniscus. These are not minor injuries. They cause constant pain, instability, and progressive damage when left untreated. Despite this: • Chad waited approximately 8 months for proper diagnostic imaging • He remains in a wheelchair • Surgery may take 1–4 additional months, if approved • No adequate explanation has been given for the delay This level of delay raises grave concerns of medical neglect and potential violations of Chad’s constitutional right to adequate medical care. Why this matters Prolonged immobility and untreated meniscus tears can lead to: • Permanent joint damage • Muscle atrophy • Chronic pain and disability • Reduced chance of successful recovery after surgery Chad should not be punished with lifelong injury due to institutional delay. What’s happening now • We are formally requesting full medical records • A medical grievance is being prepared and filed • We are documenting a clear timeline of neglect • We are escalating this matter beyond the facility if delays continue What YOU can do Please: • Sign and share this petition • Comment to keep engagement active • Share Chad’s story on social media • Help us demand timely medical treatment and accountability Chad is not asking for special treatment. He is asking for basic medical care and human dignity. Thank you for standing with us and refusing to let this be ignored.
