Justice for Calvin Jacobs
The Issue
"Evil triumphs because good men do nothing."
Silence and inaction let injustice stand. By adding your name, you are refusing to look away.
Calvin deserves justice. His family deserves answers. His life must not be forgotten.
In June 2023, Calvin Jacobs was taken from us. He was 21 years old: a son, a brother, a cousin and a friend, with his whole life ahead of him.
More than three years later, his family is still waiting. Waiting for the case to move forward. Waiting for answers. Waiting for the justice that every family is entitled to expect.
The accused men are before the courts in connection with Calvin's death. As the matter stands, we respectfully call on the court to weigh the interests of justice with the greatest care before granting bail, including the safety of witnesses, the integrity of the evidence and the confidence of the community.
The delays have taken a heavy toll. Concerns that witnesses were not properly notified to appear in court have left Calvin's family frustrated, distressed and increasingly worried about whether this case is receiving the urgency it deserves. When a case stalls, the risk is not only to the family. Evidence can be lost, memories can fade and public trust in the system can erode.
This petition is not about revenge. It is about justice, accountability and a process that works.
We ask the court and the relevant authorities to:
- Give full and careful consideration to the interests of justice before any decision on bail.
- Ensure witnesses and evidence are protected, and that witnesses are properly notified and supported to appear.
- Prevent further unnecessary delays, so that this matter proceeds without further postponements.
- Keep the family informed of the progress of the case.
Add your name. Stand with the Jacobs family.
