We have an important update to share. Following the tragic death of 26-year-old Anna Sebastian Perayil, who lost her life due to alleged "work pressure" at Ernst & Young, the Centre has officially launched a probe into the firm's work environment. This marks a significant step towards accountability and justice for Anna and countless others who endure exploitative conditions in high-pressure workplaces.
Union Minister of State for Labor and Employment, Shobha Krandlaje, confirmed the investigation into allegations of an unsafe and exploitative work culture at EY. This is a small but important victory for us as we continue to push for better regulations around employee rights and workplace safety.
Anna’s family, heartbroken by the loss, has bravely spoken out about the immense stress she faced during her short tenure at EY. Her mother’s letter to the India head of EY highlighted the extreme pressures that led to Anna collapsing at home on July 20, tragically passing away soon after. This petition stands in solidarity with Anna’s family and all employees facing similar conditions.
While EY has denied the allegations, this probe is a win in our fight for transparency and safer work environments. We must continue pushing for meaningful reforms that ensure no one else has to endure such loss due to workplace stress.
We appreciate all your support in this journey. Together, we will keep fighting for fair and just working conditions for all employees.
Please share this update and keep the momentum going!
