Animal cruelty is a serious issue. Day after day, a new unjustifiable crime against animals is revealed, which seldom brings any justice to the poor victim. This indifference towards animal cruelty compels me to raise the question - "Will crimes against animals ever be taken seriously by the governing authorities?"

Unfortunately, one such incident happened to take place in our own locality in Chitrakoot, Jaipur, on 14th July 2023. A helpless female dog was subjected to unimaginable cruelty at the hands of three drunk men. They mercilessly beat her and threw her off the third floor of a building during the late hours of the night (around 1:00 am). Tragically, the dog landed on an iron rod, causing severe injuries that led to her untimely and agonizing death.

This heinous act of cruelty has left our community in shock and disbelief. We, the concerned citizens of Chitrakoot, stand united in seeking justice for this innocent and defenseless animal. It is our fervent plea that the perpetrators of this horrendous crime (namely Bharat Kumar Saini and his two friends) are held accountable to the fullest extent of the law.

Even though an FIR has been filed regarding the incident, we are disheartened to learn that the culprits were released with mere apologies, evading appropriate punishment for their actions. This outcome is not only unjust but also sends a dangerous message that such acts of cruelty can go unpunished in our society.

We urge you, the Government of Rajasthan and the Chitrakoot police department, to thoroughly investigate this case and ensure that the perpetrators face severe penalties for their actions. We believe that justice must be served, not only for the sake of the innocent dog (Angel) who lost her life but also as a deterrent against future acts of animal cruelty.

Furthermore, we emphasize the urgent need for stronger enforcement of animal cruelty laws in our locality. The Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Act, 1960, provides clear guidelines and penalties for offenses against animals. We implore you to review and enforce these laws rigorously, ensuring that any acts of cruelty are met with appropriate legal consequences.

Additionally, we call upon the authorities to take immediate steps to establish or improve existing animal aid services in our city. Lack of accessible and timely medical assistance for injured animals only exacerbates their suffering and further diminishes their chances of survival. It is imperative that we have dedicated animal ambulance services and trained professionals who can provide swift medical aid to animals in distress.

In conclusion, we, the concerned citizens of Chitrakoot, Jaipur, stand united in our demand for justice. We urge the Rajasthan government to act swiftly and decisively, ensuring that Bharat Kumar Saini and the other perpetrators are thoroughly penalized for their cruel actions. Furthermore, we implore the Government of India to strengthen the enforcement of animal cruelty laws and enhance animal aid services to prevent such tragic incidents from occurring in the future.
