On June 24, 2025 my daughter, Amanda, testified before the "Grand Jury" at the Attorney General's office in Rhode Island. After Amanda gave her testimony, Assistant Attorney General Amy Dodge, who was leading the Grand Jury, called me to testify. I was taken back, when Amanda and I last met with Att. Dodge, it was indicated I may not be called to testify.
Something did not feel quite right with the procedures. There was an air of casualness, like a rehearsal of sorts, which belied the graveness of the crime being heard. Assistant Attorney General Dodge objected to the majority of questions directed to me by the jurors not letting me answer and centered her own questions to me on the online Me Too petition, which I had written on what I had experienced when reporting the suspected sexual abuse of my daughter to the authorities back in 1999. It seems Attorney Dodge and her supervisors sought to write off the case as an act of revenge on my part on the accused, my daughter's biological father, Edward Mace Jr.
My contribution to my daughter's Me Too petition was written to set forth my ordeal and experiences at the reporting of the child sexual abuse to the authorities, for whom I had placed a great deal of trust and faith that they would do right by my child, that justice would be served. The second reporting, this time by my daughter, was dealt in the same manner.
I did not believe those involved, the East Providence Police Department and the Rhode Island Attorney General's office would treat the case any different than they had before--that they would have Amanda's best interest at heart--and this was apparent right from the start.
It appears this perpetrator is above all else.
