Justice for Alicia Little

Justice for Alicia Little
Why this petition matters

My beautiful niece, Alicia Little, was run over and left to die by her abusive fiancé- and now this murderer could be released in just one year. Our family is devastated on having lost a precious daughter, niece, sister, aunt, and loving mother of four.
Charlie Evans took Alicia’s phone, hit her with his vehicle and ran over her. He left Alicia lying there bleeding and suffering in pain. He did not bother giving her any assistance or calling an ambulance. Alicia died that day because of the brutal way in which Charlie Evans inflicted injuries on her.
Charlie Evans was charged with murder and sentenced to just four years for his cruel and cowardly act. But his charges were downgraded to dangerous driving and failure to render assistance because of a plea deal. I feel very let down by our justice system - is Alicia’s life just worth four years? My niece deserves justice.
Our family is shattered that this man could be released on parole within a year. Charlie Evans must pay for his actions. He had been previously charged with domestic and family violence in NSW with his former wife and children before he met my niece. However, since he moved states, there was no paper trail or warning of his previous convictions.
Domestic violence is a heinous crime and someone convicted of this should be guilty Australia-wide. This will make it difficult for abusers like Charlie Evans from repeating their violent acts and destroying more lives.
That’s why we are calling for greater co-operation between interstate courts and justice systems. No amount of penalty can bring back my lovely niece, but a changed law can help protect other victims like our Alicia from being robbed of their lives, their futures.
Please, sign and share our petition. Our family needs you.
Cindy Miller,
Alicia’s loving aunt.
