HTV Wales did a really nice piece on Alfie's situation today.

The piece is great but the Local Education Authority got away with saying that they turned down 93 applications, completely forgetting to mention that 92 of those applications were out of catchment.  Alfie is the only in catchment application (ever) to not get a place.  

The piece also doesn't mention that the LEA mislead the appeal panel about the capacity of the school, and although Alfie was first on the waiting list, have since given 5 places to late applicants ahead of Alfie.
