While we were not the ones who helped Nasrat get to the US, his service to the United States as a translator for Green Berets made him the precise type of person that our organization was formed to assist. Nasrat was one of us.
In a sick twist of irony, he was murdered in Washington, DC, less than a mile from the Capitol.

A true self-starter and survivor of the fall of Kabul, he had been working multiple jobs to make ends meet. He deserved better.
He was sole provider for his family, and the NGO and veteran community who stepped up in August 2021 to save our Afghan allies, must do so again to help his wife and four children.
