From the very beginning, we at the 1208 Foundation pledged to bring the ground truth of our efforts in saving who we could: both the good and the bad.

Unfortunately, this time is one of the latter.

Omar Khan was an NMRG member under our care. He was detained and tortured by the Taliban earlier this year, and suffered massive internal injuries, to which he finally succumbed last week.

Contrary to any narratives you might have heard, there is no "Taliban 2.0": if anything, they are only smarter and more capable in manipulating the west. Omar's death however, is testament to their enduring savagery.
