The Issue

In 2019, amidst much fanfare, Bhoomi Poojan was performed at Samta Nagar MIG Redevelopment Project, Kandivali (East), Mumbai.

BhoomiPoojan

440 families trusted the words of S.D. Corporation (Shapoorji Pallonji Group) and MHADA. Six years later, all we have is broken dreams and empty promises.

🎥 Samta Nagar, July 2025:
6 years after Bhoomi Poojan, not a single home built.
The truck seen belongs to Mahindra — as per resident updates, the redevelopment land has been rented out, while 440 families remain homeless.
(Note: Land leasing information pending official confirmation.)

Our buildings were demolished. The Commencement Certificate was granted in 2020. But in July 2025, our land remains vacant, abandoned. Watch the video attached — this empty plot was supposed to be our home.

This is not just a construction delay. This is the slow destruction of 440 families:

Over 300 senior citizens are now shuttled from one temporary rental to another, many bedridden, many choosing between life-saving medicine or paying rent.
Young adults are unable to marry, families have been torn apart, and financially ruined.
Single earners are collapsing under the stress of uncertainty and rising expenses.
S.D. Corporation has shattered our trust:
✅ No construction despite valid permissions since 2017 (IOD) and 2020 (CC).
✅ Rent irregular for years, with no 10% annual increase as required by law (MoFA Sec. 7, RERA Sec. 14).
✅ Attempts to change the project site without our consent.
✅ Termination notice (11.02.2025) issued by 12 societies — completely ignored.

MHADA, a signatory to our tripartite agreement, is meant to safeguard residents but has been a silent spectator — ignoring even the Jayashree Dholi High Court judgment and Maharashtra GR (04.03.2024) which protect residents and call for action against defaulting builders.

Letters to Shri Piyush Goyal, Shri Eknath Shinde, Shri Devendra Fadnavis, legal notices from our advocate, and years of follow-ups have met silence.

🙏 This is a plea for justice, not charity.
Elderly parents are dying without seeing their home. Children are growing up without stability. This is not the India we dreamt of. We believed in “Housing for All,” we believed in justice — but we are forgotten.

📝 Our Clear Demands:
✅ Enforce termination notice (11.02.2025), appoint a new developer per GR 04.03.2024.
✅ Resume construction on our original land (IOD 2017, CC 2020), with a public completion timeline.
✅ Pay all pending rent with 10% escalation as per agreement.
✅ Hold a joint meeting with MHADA, MahaRERA, SD Corporation, and us — the rightful homeowners — before 15th August 2025.
✅ Appoint a Grievance Officer to ensure monthly accountability.

We are middle-class families, no PR agency, no media muscle, no corporate lobby. Only faith in democracy.

Sign this petition to be the voice for the forgotten 440 families of Samta Nagar. Share our story. Let Samta Nagar become the symbol of justice, not of betrayal.

Together, we can rebuild our homes and our dignity.🙏
