I want to share an important update with all of you who have stood beside our family and supported our fight for justice.
Many of you know my husband as Norm, but from now on he will be publicly referred to as Eli, the name he carries from his grandfather — and the name he prefers.
As we continue advocating for truth, accountability, and change, it’s important that we honour who he is in his own words.
Livestream Event: Voices of Lived Experience — November 20 @ 5:00 PM CST
We’ve been invited to take part in a powerful livestream hosted by Why Not Mindset, called “Voices of Lived Experience.”
This event brings together people impacted by the justice system — from those who have lived inside it, to family members who have spent years advocating for their loved ones on the outside.
Eli and I will be sharing pieces of our lived experience, our family’s journey, and the realities behind this petition.
This livestream is especially meant for criminology and corrections students, educators, and anyone committed to real understanding and real change. But everyone is welcome.

During the livestream, you’ll be able to ask questions, comment, and engage with the panel.
This is a space where stories that don’t make it into textbooks finally get heard.
Why This Matters
Our lived experience is not just a story — it’s part of a much bigger conversation about wrongful conviction, Indigenous families, systemic failures, and what happens to families left fighting for truth.
By sharing our reality openly, we hope to:
Bring awareness to Eli’s case
Humanize what families like ours endure
Help criminology students and future professionals understand the system from the inside out
Continue building a movement for accountability and second chances
Thank you for standing with us, signing, sharing, and keeping this conversation alive.
Your support is part of why Eli and I continue fighting every day.
Let’s keep pushing for justice.
Let’s keep redefining second chances — together.
