On day 82nd of my 4th Hunger Strike outside the UNHCR office in Athens, Greece, I left my shelter again to reach the people at Generation 2.0 Red to find out why haven’t they been responding to years of my unilateral communications with them. Also, if I get a chance to reiterate my request for urgent help directly in person. 

Initially, I was thinking of going to the office of the International Rescue Committee, but I didn’t find a Physical address for their office in Athens on their website. Same as all my previous emails to them, they also didn’t respond to my email and WhatsApp message from the night before for providing me with the address to their office.

So I went to Generation 2.0 Red instead. However, when I got there, the Director of the Organization, Mr. Nikos-Deji Odubitan, was not there and the people who were present, mostly young and inexperienced, not only didn’t open the door for me, but they even threatened to call the Police at least on two occasions without specifying a reason.

As I sat there in front of their office alongside my banner waiting either to meet with the Police or the Director of the Organization, it didn’t take too long that the Director arrived there with his Motorcycle.

Although he wasn’t so keen for speaking to me on the Camera, but after a lot of hesitation and going to his office probably thinking about it while I kept persisting to get answers, he eventually came out, but really didn’t have much to say.

However, by the end our short discussion, I got him to give his word for responding to least two of my most recent emails. One concerning my request for urgent humanitarian relief which was once more sent to them on the day of my visit to their office and the other one concerning my request for urgent legal aid which was sent to them on September 27th, 2022.

But not respecting his own words at the end he only sent a reply to my email from October 26th the next day in which he simply suggested to refer me to other organizations rather offering direct help from their own.

Below is what they wrote:

We are sorry to hear the situation you find yourself currently.

In terms of our services, I am afraid there is nothing relevant to meet your needs at the moment.

However, we could refer you to an organization, which is specialized in vulnerability assessment and offering support to people of migrant background, regardless of legal status, who have been through very difficult moments like you.

Please let us know if you would be interested in this kind of service, so we can refer you accordingly.

Although I replied to their email the same day and asked them to send a reply to my other email as well. But they never did.

So not getting any help from them either, I continue to remain in urgent need of Humanitarian assistance to be able to sustain my life and also in urgent need of legal aid to be able to find Justice and Freedom for my life.
