Petition updateJustice and Freedom for Hostage Of Europe NowSeeking Urgent Legal Aid at Human Rights 360

On Thursday, September 15th, 2022, as I was enduring day 41st of my 04th Hunger Strike outside the UNHCR office, I left my shelter again and went to the office of the Human Rights 360 to request urgent legal aid as well as humanitarian assistance for my survival.

The organization has not responded to any of my emails sent to them over the past few years.

Recently they also declined to be of any assistance as I reached out to them and asked for help on several different occasions during my recent prolonged detention in the basement of the Ambelokipi Police Station which lasted for 42-days.

Yet, in spite all that and having been left with no other choice, I sent them yet another email the day before my visit to their office on Thursday. This was basically the same email I sent to the UNHCR office on September 12th, 2022, in which I laid out all the aspects of my dire situation in Greece since 2014 to date. Having added my notes specifically addressed to them, I had accordingly once again requested urgent legal aid and humanitarian assistance.

To emphasize even further how urgently help is needed, I also sent them another email about one hour prior to my visit to their office in which I had requested urgent survival support in terms of donations to be contributed to my Fundraising Campaign. This was so that I could sustain my life, as the people at the UNHCR office continue to indefinitely drag the case on with no end insight without giving out any information or offering any kind of help and support even for my survival.

At the entrance of their building, though, which is about 300 meters away from the UNHCR office, after setting up my banner, I rang the doorbell, and even though someone from the organization eventually answered, but in the end no one opened the door for me. This was despite telling them that I was on Hunger Strike and that I was about to pass out due to extreme heat and dehydration.

But as they didn't open the door for me, I sat there, hoping the door would be opened for another person or someone enters the building with a key, then I would get in too. It didn’t take too long till a guy from inside, narrowly opened the door for a delivery guy who was carrying food, but after he got his food through, he then immediately shut the door on me by force and didn’t let me enter the building.

Shorty after, a middle aged fascist guy, who later claimed to be the owner of the building, showed up in front of my banner on the pavement, and while speaking to me in a very rude and insulting language, was demanding that I leave the premises.

“You need to go. This is private property. I am recording you. Leave now and etc.” the guy kept saying before pointing at my banner and asking “Is that yours?” Then saying “I will take it and throw it away.”

As I went to protect my banner from getting damaged by him, he goes to the other side of the gate, closing it behind and saying “There you go. This is better, isn’t it?”

Although I told him many times on both sides of the gate, that I needed to reach the Human Rights 360, but he said “I don’t care. That’s not my problem. I am not from them. I don’t know them. I am calling the Police right now and etc.”

Even outside the gate, he still wouldn’t leave me alone and continue demanding in his insulting language that I take my banner and leave.

At this point I told him to give me some space, so I could relocate my banner in peace roughly about 1 to 1.5 meters away in the opposite direction of where it was facing then and also where I could tie it to a traffic sign on the pavement, where which he wouldn’t have any grounds as well to claim that it was installed in a private property. Even though I hardly think that in fact it was even in the first place.

But he kept saying in his continued insulting language “I am not giving you any space. You have no rights to be here. Take this now and leave and etc.”

Shorty after relocating my banner, I decided to go and ring the doorbell again to see if I could reach the Human Rights 360 this time and while still standing beside my banner, I also saw two people behind the door from a distance whom I suspected could be from the organization and may open the door for me this time.

But as I approached the door, the same fascist guy comes out again and tells me to leave. He wouldn’t even let me ring the doorbell. The two other people also came to the door. One of whom was a guy who was saying “You don’t need to ring the doorbell, just go”. By “go”, he meant leave the building.

Then the other person, a woman, basically an employee of the Human Rights 360, but wouldn’t declare it, until after I asked, said “Can you talk to me. What do you need?”

“I need to reach the Human Rights 360.” I told her. “We don’t accept people here. This is not the office where we see people.” she replied.

It was at this point that I asked if she was from the Human Rights 360, to which she replied Yes.

Then, as walking with me back to my banner, the only thing she seemed to be concerned about, was whether or not I was recording our conversation. After confirming that I was, she constantly kept changing location, so she wouldn’t be captured on the camera.

And while she was busy doing so, I told her that my situation needed urgent attention and that I was tired of sending them emails for many years and not getting any replies. I also told her about two of my recent emails mentioned above and accordingly asked to see and speak with the director.

But she said the director was not there as another woman from the organization joined her at this point.

It was then that due to extreme heat and exhaustion, I was about to faint. So, I sought shelter under the shade of my banner standing right beside me which was now making some shade after being relocated.

Continuing the conversation from there, I once again told both of the employees of the Human Rights 360, that I needed to see the director. I also told them that food and water have literally been weaponized at the doorsteps of the UNHCR office to starve me to death and cover it up.

But the newly arrived woman said “We don’t have lawyers here.”

She said that despite the fact that I was right at the address presented on their website for their office location and despite the fact that she also didn’t specify any other office location for me to go to. So, where was I supposed to go instead, especially when they have as well never replied to any of my emails.

Then she said “I think at this point it is best for you to go somewhere else that it is not in this heat, because you will face health problems.”

I replied and said “I already have problems, that is why I am here and asking for help. Urgent help. Not tomorrow or another day in a nearly or distant future. I need urgent help now. This instant.”

It was at this point that the Police got there. After explaining the situation to them, the second lady from the Human Rights 360, tells the Police officers that their organization is not providing any kind of legal assistance or any other help for that matter whatsoever.

So I asked them all “What is the solution for me then? Die of starvation?” and continued saying “I don’t even have water to drink. Greece kept me Hostage, deprived me of everything, stole everything from me and now has weaponized Food and Water to starve me to death and cover it up. I am tired of ending up in detention wherever I go and ask for help.”

“What is this?” I asked them afterwards.

Nobody replied. Their only concern instead was to take away my phone so I wouldn’t record what was happening.

But then they let me be and went to a distance where the Police had separate conversations with the people from the Human Rights 360. But I couldn’t hear or understand anything about what was going on and/or what they were talking about.

It didn’t take much longer that a Police car arrived and they took me to the Ambelokipi Police Station where they held me for one hour before letting me go again without offering any kind of help or whatsoever for resolving my dire situation.

By then I was too exhausted. So I went back to my shelter outside the UNHCR office to get some rest, only if I could get any. Because being on Hunger Strike aside, the heat is so intense that just in the past two months it has even burned away the nylon cover of my shelter at least on three occasions which should give you an idea about how hot it can get inside.

So that was it for my visit to the office of the Human Rights 360 as well. In conclusion, nobody helped.

Please act now if you can help and do something about this ongoing situation. Any help is very much appreciated.

To everyone else, please spread the word, sign my online Petition now and donate if you can.

Thank you for your solidarity and support.

Yours Respectfully,
