Day 163rd of my 3rd #HungerStrike Outside UNHCR Office — Outcomes of my Pleadings for Emergency Funding — Replies — Wednesday, February 23rd , 2022
While the #Greek State and the #UN #Refugee Agency (UNHCR) continue dragging this case out with no end in sight merely in the hope of eventually starving me to death and covering it up, and in the absence of #solidarity and support from the Civil Society, NGOs and Organizations in this country, my endeavors for acquiring #emergency and life saving #Grants/#Donations from abroad still continues.
This is when I completely ran out of funds and at the moment I have no cash on me even to get myself water. That also includes the two coupons, each worth 10 Euros, which was brought to me by Mr. Younes Mohamaddi, from the Greek Forum for Refugees, last Saturday and I am afraid without any help my life remains in serious jeopardy.
In the meantime, while they wait for me to perish, the harassments and humiliations never stop.
Two days earlier a Greek woman threw two coins outside my shelter in a very humiliating way, even without talking to me. Inside my shelter I am always occupied with my non-stop efforts in seeking help, but I heard the noise when the coins dropped and although I called out the woman, but she was already on her way leaving in a very disrespectful manner. I threw the coins back at her without watching or even caring whether she is going to pick them up or not.
I had a similar experience with a couple one day earlier on Sunday who have stopped by my shelter to withdraw money from the ATM machines adjacent to the UNHCR office. However, when I called them out, they didn't just simply leave or ignore me. I politely gave back there coins, showed them my big Banner displaying the links to both my Campaigns and asked them if they were genuine in wanting to help and not merely mortifying me, they could do so by visiting my Fundraising Campaign and making a Donation there. I also gave them a copy of my leaflet with links to both of the Campaigns printed on it. Although they took the leaflet and also took a picture of my Banner and said will contribute there, but they never did.
The next day, someone left a plastic bag wrapped around a rotten bread right beside my Banner. I saw it sometime later. Undoubtedly, anyone who leaves things outside my shelter without telling me or talking to me, is malicious and only wants to hurt me.
In another turn of events, yesterday, one of the fascist Greek women who lives nearby and takes her dog with her every day as she comes to the Bazar Supermarket which is also adjacent to the UNHCR office right in front of my shelter, who was also complicit with another fascist Greek woman in the destruction of my #Banner last December, was seeking to do it again with the help of another fascist Greek woman different than the previous one.
As they both intentionally right in front on my shelter, where my banner is installed, began easing the leashes of their dogs so they could play around and hit and destroy my banner again, I called them out, but they ignored me, so I picked up my Phone and started recording what was happening while explicitly telling them to take their dogs away from my Banner and if failing to do so, they would be held responsible for any damages done to my banner and they must pay for it. Although they didn’t respond to me in a respectful manner, but as I continued standing in front of my Banner in order to protect it, they finally decided to leave without any further escalation.
This is how these people behave most of the time and it never seems to change or end for that matter. A collective effort in breaking my soul and spirit that has started from the beginning of my Protest here on March 21st, 2017, and continues to date and are now shamelessly waiting for me to perish, so they can celebrate their success after they have stolen everything from me.
Yet, despite all the obstacles, the struggle for my life, my freedom, my dignity and my honor continues, even if so far it has not produced a significant result. At this point, what is the most essential, though, is to find resources in order to sustain myself, live another day and continue the fight till my rights are recognized and this #Hostage taking and my complete #deprivation in this country comes to an end.
Which is why I continue writing or following up on my earlier pleadings with over one hundred International Philanthropic, Charities and Human Rights Organizations/Foundations abroad, and though the vast majority of those communications remain unilateral, I am still desperately hoping one of them would help.
The MacArthur Foundation, which is one of those organizations, followed by several follow up emails finally wrote in its second reply “We are saddened to learn that the dire situation continues unabated. It pains us that we are not in a position to be of assistance. As we previously shared, MacArthur does not make grants to individuals except for Leaders for a New Chicago, and the MacArthur Fellows Program, which is not open to applications or public nominations.”
Moreover, they continued their reply, without suggesting an alternative source and also declining to forward my request to other potential funders/Donors. “We deeply regret that we are not in a position to forward what you’ve shared with other funders. We know that this is an extremely frustrating and disappointing response. We truly hope you find the assistance you are seeking.” It said in the conclusion of its short reply.
The second organization that has recently replied to me is The Hunger Project Canada. They wrote “Unfortunately, we do not provide funds outside of our current programs. Our work is on long-term, sustainable solutions to ending hunger.”, and suggested contacting Crisis Aid International, International Rescue Committee, UN Crisis Relief, and/or Red Cross instead.
Of those, only the Crisis Aid International was new to me, and I wrote them right immediately afterwards. But I was unable to find any contact details OR contact form to reach the UN Crisis Relief. In the meantime, all my communications with the International Rescue Committee, International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC), International Committee of the Red Cross and Hellenic Red Cross are currently pending responses.
As my 3rd Hunger Strike has passed 5-months+ long, I am now feeling constant pain in all my bones every day. Experiencing excessive Hair Loss, blurred eyesight and memory issues. Moreover on Sunday evening I also experienced another extremely painful Gallstone attack that put me in bed for nearly two hours before I could feel any relief. Although I have been experiencing these attacks since after the break of my second Hunger Strike here outside the UNHCR office in September 2020, but since the beginning of my current Hunger Strike those attacks have become more tense and more frequent. Without identification documents, I do not have access to emergency services or medical center care in the Hospitals. I have been undocumented since March 19th, 2018.
In any conscious mind, there shall be no doubt that what is happening here was indeed a collective plot all along that has been going on for 7-years+ long with the ultimate aim of draining all my resources first and lastly starving me to death and covering it up. As if I didn’t deserve to live at all. In the other words, a Systematic deprivation and targeted assassination.
Nothing like this should happen to anyone, anywhere and no one should be put through a situation like this.
I fear for my life, my safety and well-being.
This is a dire emergency. Please do not be indifferent and ignorant to what is happening here and take action now
