There was a heavy snowfall in Athens, Greece on Monday, January 24th, 2022.
And While I have been enduring day 133rd day of my 3rd Hunger Strike Outside UNHCR Office located in a residential area near downtown Athens, I was left without help and support in subzero temperature.
Due to financial restraints this year, I was unable to get myself a heater, and I only had two blankets to keep warm.
The heavy snowfall broke the branches of countless trees, including from the one where my shelter is placed under.
During all these years of continued protest outside UNHCR, I have even been deprived of the most basic necessities such as sanitary services.
I have even been sent to detention for using the toilet in nearby Hospitals. A small green area nearby is where I usually go when I need to go to the toilet.
For washing my hands or my face in the mornings, regardless of a weather situation, I use the water tap on the other side of the street opposite to the UNHCR office, which currently is very cold.
This is an ongoing Hostage taking in Greece that has been continuing for over 7 hellish years. As they have been procrastinating a resolution to my case, to drain all my resources, they are now seeking to starve me to death and cover it up.
Since the break of my 2nd Hunger Strike on September 2020, I have been surviving on other people’s little Donations coming from abroad.
Nothing like this should happen to anyone, anywhere and no one should be put through a situation like this.
I fear for my life, my safety and well-being.
