Dear the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees, Filippo Grandi; the Deputy High Commissioner, Kelly T. Clements and the High Commissioner’s Representative in Greece, Mireille Girard;
This is in response to your email from Tuesday, January 25th, 2022, which was sent in relation to my request for opening a Bank account in Trust as well as issuance of UNHCR's identification documents and thereby preventing my starvation as a result of the deliberate policies inflicted upon my life in Greece for over 7 hellish years.
Your reply compels me to reiterate and emphasize once more that I am not a resident in Greece, but a Hostage who has been deprived of even the most basic necessities for all those years. This is, of course, something which your organization is the first hand eye witness to on a daily basis right outside its main office in Greece at least since March 21st, 2017.
I never consented to apply for OR seek Asylum in Greece. I was given false and incomplete information in 2014, and was led to believe that by registering in Greece and obtaining documents, I would then be able to leave immediately to reach other EU countries of my choice and settle there permanently. "They are very good people. They understand how bad the situation is in Greece, and they will never send you back here." I was told.
Yet Sweden sent me back in September 2015, even when Greece was not abiding by those regulations, even when all the borders were temporarily open and people could freely leave Greece to seek Asylum in other EU countries. There is no logical reason to explain this away other than saying they sent me back, because I didn't pay people smugglers to reach their territory. Hence, as a result of my illegal deportation, I had already been backstabbed twice in Europe in less than 1.5 years, even before finding any sort of protection in this continent.
Moreover, in Greece, not only have I been deliberately deprived of everything and excluded from all programs and services that may be available to other Refugees in this country but I have also been excluded from the EU's relocation program. UNHCR, which carries out this program in collaboration with its partners, has called the Police and sent me to detention on numerous occasions between September 2015 to March 21st, 2017, for requesting to include me in this program. This was when UNHCR hadn't yet moved its office to its current location at Michalalakoupoulou 91.
As my documents expired on March 19th, 2018, over one year into my ongoing protest outside your office, I was sent to Amygdaleza Pre-Removal Detention Center and was scheduled for deportation. However, for reasons which are not known to me, it was cancelled later. My visit to the Asylum office for renewing my documents back then was met with the Police's aggression and Physical assaults which were called upon by the agent from the Asylum office to whom I was conveying my request.
This also indicates my illegal deportation from Sweden as well as my complete deprivation in Greece that continues to date were essentially politically motivated right from the beginning with the possibility of other entities from outside the continent involved as well. Which is why all these cover-ups on this ongoing atrocity can be explained away.
Over these many years of my ongoing protest outside the UNHCR office, the Police has been called on me and I have consequently been sent and held in temporary detention for over 300 times. I was made to appear before courts on 25 occasions and also sent to jail on 5 occasions. This is in addition to all the Physical assaults I have suffered here, right outside the UNHCR office; all the destruction and vanishing of my shelters, which have occurred so far on 5 occasions and cost me over 500 Euros each time; all the continued and regular harassments and lastly the destruction and confiscation of my Cellphones.
It won't take you more than several minutes to carry out all these acts of aggression, humiliation, degradation and tortures on me, which continues for years, when all I am asking is for my rights, as a fellow human being, to be respected and ultimately for a durable solution to be found urgently to this ongoing Hostage taking in Greece. Yet UNHCR's mockery and complete disregard for my life never seems to end as if my life has never mattered to it at all.
Perhaps that's why UNHCR didn't help me in Northern Iraq when I begged and asked for help for two years (2013-2014), when I was already in exile there for nearly a decade, even when I was facing death threats by the political entities there responsible for the second destabilization of my life. That's why rather than providing accurate information, it has decided on giving me false and incomplete information in Greece in 2014. That's why rather than giving me the letter the Canadian Embassy had asked for it had instead decided on mocking and playing me in Italy in 2015. That's why it ignored my distress calls for preventing my illegal deportation from Sweden in September 2015. And ultimately that's why it has brought all the miseries of the world upon my life in Greece since then. When all it needed to do was doing its job when I first asked for help. But rather than doing that, you are now effectively turning into a murderer by partaking in my starvation in Greece.
I didn't ask for Asylum in Greece, making me repeat this again and again for years, only shows how rotten and evil this organization is. Rather than serving the interests of other entities and pushing for my enslavement, do the job you are mandated to do.
Stop hurting me anymore, do your job, find me Asylum and put an end to my prolonged imprisonment in Greece.
Meanwhile, my accommodation and survival must also be taken care of by the UNHCR itself while my dire situation still remains unresolved. UNHCR must also stop forcing or addressing me to other locations or places where it knows for sure not only I would not receive any help, but may even be sent to detention or even perhaps risk being assaulted by them as well.
Hence, as I have entered day 140th of my third Hunger Strike Outside the UNHCR, office today, Monday, January 31st, 2022, I once again urge the organization to find a resolution to my dire situation urgently. This can be achieved by responding to one of the fair propositions I have addressed to the organization both in writing and also publicity via my online Petition.
Furthermore, if UNHCR is unable to assist with opening a Bank account in Trust while my dire situation is still pending a resolution, I urge UNHCR to forward this request to any other organization that can help with this. In that case, please also keep me in the loop (Cc).
I didn't seek Refuge to pay and suffer. Refugees are not slaves; our lives matter too.
Nothing like this should happen to anyone, anywhere and no one should be put through a situation like this.
I fear for my life, my safety and well-being.
This is a dire emergency. Please do not be indifferent and ignorant to what is happening here and take action now.
