Day 80th of my 3rd #HungerStrike Outside UNHCR Office in Athens, Greece; Another #Court Appearance — Photos — Thursday, December 02nd, 2021
Today, Thursday, December 02nd, 2021, I have entered day 80th of my 3rd Hunger Strike Outside UNHCR Office in Athens, Greece. Counting the number of days from my first (64-days, 2017) and second (73-days, 2020) Hunger Strikes here, thus far I have been on 217-days-long Hunger Strike in this exact location since the start of my protest on March 21st, 2017.
As part of Greece’s years-long of my illegal prosecution over seeking a durable and sustainable solution for my life, today I was once again had to appear in a Court. This was the continuation of the subpoena from 10-days ago. Back then the hearing got postponed due to my appeal for #LegalAid.
On my way to the Court today, unlike the last time that I was all by myself, photographer #Jyri_Pitkänen had accompanied me to the #Evelpidon Court, where I had to go first in order to pick up the Court's decision on the appointment of a lawyer to my case.
However, due to lack of permit, in the Court they didn’t let the photographer in, which is why he parted from there and didn’t go with me neither to the second Court where I had the hearing nor to the #PoliceStation where I had to go afterwards in order to give precense.
This is the first time ever they have responded positively to the appointment of a lawyer to my case, whom I met with in the second Court at Kirillou Loukareos 14 which is located far away from the Evelpidon Court. However the Court was once again postponed due on lawyer’s request for preparing a defense.
The accusations are same old accusations as before. “Blocking the entrance of the UNHCR office and disrupting people’s commute there.” Which clearly I strongly reject. But even with that in mind, based on the same accusations thus far I had been forced to appear in the Court on 24 occasions and have also been jailed on 5 occasions.
I am expecting to meet up with my lawyer again next week, probably either on Monday OR Tuesday, though I am not entirely sure whether this is going to be in his office OR at my shelter outside UNHCR office. Our defense must be presented to the Court next Thursday.
After the Court I had to go again to the #Ambelokipi Police Station to give presence. This is something I have been obligated to do every month for the past 3-years. At first I had to sign three documents, however, two months ago it changed to only two documents and today I was asked to sign one document only.
From the Police Station I returned back to my shelter and while extremely exhausted, I am still waiting for the pictures and the videos photographer #Jyri_Pitkänen took both yesterday and during his visit with me today to the Evelpidon Court.
