JUSTICE 4 NICK GODEJOHN

Le problème

Nicholas Godejohn is currently incarcerated at the Potosi Correctional Center, sentenced to life imprisonment due to his involvement in a tragic murder case. He is serving for the murder of Clauddinnea Pitre, directed by Gypsy Rose Blanchard, Pitre's own daughter. However, our understanding of the situation isn't as black and white.

Blanchard was released in December 2023, after serving just 8 years for masterminding the cruel act. Whereas Nicholas has been denied any opportunity for respite. His motion to vacate, set aside, or correct judgment and sentence was denied in March 2023. Godejohn was manipulated and emotionally coerced into committing the act by Blanchard.

This horrific story has become deeply personal for Godejohn's friends, family, and supporters. We believe Nicholas Godejohn should have a right to appeal his sentence just like any other prisoner, regardless of the heaviness of his crime. A system that values justice should acknowledge when manipulation, coercion, and psychological abuse has been effective in driving someone to commit an act they would have otherwise have never contemplated, let alone acted upon.

It is imperative to reconsider Godejohn's case and present him with a chance to appeal his sentence. His crime, although grave, was not entirely self-incurred. The manipulation he endured and the emotional coercion he survived are significant elements that need to be comprehensively reviewed.

Please support us in this endeavor, advocating for the basic human right of Nicholas Godejohn to appeal his sentence. Your signature can bring us one step closer to justice.
