Heaven or hell?  As I have mourned for sweet Rebecka, a child I never knew, I have to remind myself that she is in heaven, surrounded by love and beauty that she may not have felt in this life.  I have to picture sweet Rebecka in the presence of angels, being cared for and adored.  So why the thoughts of hell?  Because I cannot help but think of the last moments of Rebecka's life.  Although they are now swallowed up in joy, there are plenty of other children in the same hell Rebecka experienced here on earth.  Far too many Rebeckas are still in that position.  They live in fear of neglect and abuse and they are not safe.  While I rejoice in Rebecka's heavenly experience now, I cannot forget the hell that other children are still experiencing.  You and I can change that.  Rebecka's law is a huge step forward in protecting children from potentially dangerous parents who have had their rights terminated.  It might have protected Rebecka. It will protect others. 

Thank you to those who have taken the courageous step to sign this petition, to say that it is not ok that children experience the hell of abuse and neglect, and that, when we can do more, we will do more.  Because we #RememberRebecka.  Always.
