Dear Operation STOMP supporter, We need your help. Please consider copying and pasting the e-mail form below to County Executive Mangano, (feel free to edit and add to it). We'd like some concrete answers. Please cc us on your e-mails if you would like, OperationSTOMP@gmail.com. We will continue to work behind the scenes on your behalf and update you as we have information and action alerts. Thank you for your on-going support in these efforts. Please remember to spread the word and share this e-mail with other Nassau County residents. This did not start with nor will it end with South Oyster Bay Road. Let’s keep up the pressure for the health and future of our community and surrounding neighborhoods. Thank you. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Dear Executive Mangano, My name is ___________. I reside in ________ and I am a voting constituent. I am very concerned regarding the way the roadway and tree removal projects on county roads including but not limited to Searingtown Road, Shelter Rock Road, Peninsula Boulevard, W. John Street, Seaman’s Neck Road, and S. Oyster Bay Road have been handled. There are many issues I would like to discuss with you including previous concerns brought to your attention by your constituents including requests for environmental impact studies, traffic studies, alternatives to tree removal explored, arborist reports and property value estimates before and after this work. In addition, a detailed report of tree re-planting efforts (number of trees and ratio of replanting efforts) as well as rationale for cement pavers and asphalt replacing grass beds. Additionally, I have questions regarding trees on islands (without sidewalks) being removed. It has come to my attention that the 3 current contracts for S. Oyster Bay Road do not provide any stipulations for the wood of 250 trees to return to the County. I would like to understand why the County continues to execute contracts (after multiple previous inquiries), that do not provide explicit stipulations for the wood, public property, to return to the County or Town. Additionally, I would like to know what County Roads are next to undergo tree removal. With this, I and the entire Nassau County constituency, deserve, request, and require a factual accounting of what is occurring with these projects and our public property. A prompt and transparent response is requested.
