Our first glimmer of hope has arrived from an unlikely source- the Oklahoma Department of Corrections has recommended Rebecca not be sentenced to prison time. Instead, they've recommended mental health treatment for her grief and trauma.
We could not agree more.
A truly just system would've offered her those options from the beginning without the added trauma of being charged, tried, and convicted of a murder she did not commit by Cleveland County DA Greg Mashburn and ADA Pattye High while grieving the unimaginable loss of her precious Ryder. Instead, she has spent the better part of the two years since his death sitting in Cleveland County Jail for a murder even the DA and ADA agree she did not commit.
The DOC's recommendation quoted Assistant District Attorney Pattye High's assertion during Rebecca's trial that “There is no way for the state to prove that when [Hogue] said she didn’t know [about abuse], that she actually did know her son was being abused.”
We hope that Judge Michael Tupper heeds the DOC's recommendation and offers Rebecca grief and mental health treatment.
You can help by contacting Judge Tupper and asking for leniency ahead of Rebecca's February 11 sentencing. He can be reached by phone at 405-329-9788.

Justice for Rebecca is justice for Ryder.
