Jones County (GA) Parents and Community members against mask mandates in our schools

Jones County (GA) Parents and Community members against mask mandates in our schools
The Issue
The Jones County (GA) school board decided today to require students to wear masks for one month beginning Monday August 23, 2021. This petition is for parents, students, and members of the community who are against the mask mandate.
Masks are ineffective at preventing COVID-19 and have several harmful effects on our children and their educational environment.
The bottom line and message we want our leaders to hear is that the choice for students to wear a mask or not wear a mask is a parental health decision reserved for the parents NOT the school board. You can recommend masks but cannot make them mandatory!
Governor Kemp refuses to mandate masks. How can our local school board believe they have the authority to mandate masks in our schools. And on OUR children.
My child, my choice! Your child, your choice!
We will not allow our children to be masked or harmed! And we will not keep them home and deprive our children of their constitutional right to a public education.
My child cannot be forced to and will not wear a mask to make “Johnny’s mommy feel better” as someone stated in the board meeting.
Please sign this petition to let our Jones County School Board officials know how we feel about masks in our schools- that it is a parental personal choice!
The school boards emergency meeting did not allow the parents against masks to be heard. The teachers haven’t been heard. The bus drivers, coaches, students themselves, have not been heard. Let them hear us now!
Also, Please call/email your JCBOE representatives to express your concerns and request that the policy be changed immediately.
revoke the mask mandate now!
JC School Board Members are:
Ginger Bailey
Nancy Nash
Mike Gordon
Alfred Pitts
Kim Washburn
Chip Lundy, Superintendent
Please call 478-986-3032 (Jones County School Board office) to obtain phone numbers and emails for the individual board members.
