The Issue

President Trump has named Jon Voight, Mel Gibson, and Sylvester Stallone as “Hollywood Ambassadors” in his administration — tasked with promoting American arts and culture around the world.

Now, the Trump administration is preparing a plan to impose 100% tariffs on foreign films. If enacted, this policy would do lasting damage to American film industry and global film exchange, drive up costs for both American and international cinema, and risk retaliation against American filmmakers abroad.

As appointed cultural ambassadors, these actors have a responsibility to defend the value of global storytelling and artistic freedom — not stand silently by while it’s taxed and restricted.

We are calling on Jon Voight, Mel Gibson, and Sylvester Stallone publicly oppose any plan to impose tariffs on foreign films.

Urge the Trump administration to abandon the policy that treats international art as a trade threat.

Instead - focus him on providing incentives like tax breaks, etc, to keep American film production supported.

Sign the petition to demand that Hollywood’s new ambassadors speak up now and reject Trump’s plan to place tariffs on foreign films.
