Eric (BJ) Lurry Jr passed in the custody of Joliet Police Department on January 28, 2020. JPD withheld video evidence for 5 months of what happened that night. Officers Doug May and Andrew McCue slapped Eric, held his nose shut while shoving a baton in his mouth and were seen choking him. Instead of calling for aid like officers are trained to do they tortured him until he could no longer survive. Eric (BJ) Lurry Jr is a husband, father, son, brother, uncle, a cousin and friend to many. He did not deserve this injustice. There needs to be light shed on police brutality and the over abuse of power of police.
