Deforestation and poaching were rampant. Now the forest has been allowed to come back and it's amazing!! The canopy has returned to something of its original condition and poaching is almost nonexistent. This was made possible by rebuilding the Soroya station which supports the rangers who risk their lives everyday to keep leuser safe. We must support their work and stop further development into the leuser ecosystem. The bengkung is a young forest and it will be some time before it fully recovers. Please help this petition grow. The more signatures, the better. We need to yell loudly and clearly to the Acehnese Government that no more development should be allowed in the forest. Best Regards, Nicholas Alden
