The kluet region is the only part of the leuser ecosystem that which is home to rhinos, tigers, elephants, and orangutans. It is the last stronghold for the Sumatran Rhino, of which there are less than 100 left in the world. There are only two viable populations, one in Way Kambas and the other in the kluet region of leuser. This new hydro dam could spell doom for the last of the sumatran rhinos.
