The safety work on the canal embankment at The Oxbow in Fairport recently created a lot of noise and made people much more aware of the dilapidated state of our canal. Consequently, we has an upsurge of support for safety once people realised how serious the problem with all the vegetation growing on the embankments was. People's safety at the expense of scrub, brush and mainly cottonwood trees -just makes so much sense. Hopefully, once they are removed, safety inspections on a regular basis can begin. I will forward this to Senator Funke, The NYPA, and all the town supervisors who brought about the frivolous lawsuit to delay the work on this potentially dangerous embankment. Thank you everyone.
