It’s a parent’s worst nightmare; your child goes to school but never returns. This is the source of anguish of those parents, whose young daughters were kidnapped on the night of April 15, 2014 when a gang of armed men, belonging to a terrorist group called Boko Haram forced their way into a secondary school boarding house, in Chibok, Borno State in Nigeria abducting over 200 girls. This occurred in an area that was supposed to be under the watch of the Nigerian military. To date it has been two weeks, yet the Nigerian government has done little to nothing to rescue and bring back these abducted girls. The girls are believed to be held hostage in the remote Sambisa Forest, a dangerous Boko Haram hideout along to Nigerian and Cameroonian boarder. Over the past year, these extremists reportedly have kidnapped hundreds and possibly thousands of women and young girls against their will and held them as sex slaves and cooks in their camps. There are also reports that girls who have resisted their abductors have been killed by beheading. The government must be compelled to act NOW! Time is of the essence! We are asking for the assistance of the United States of America and the United Nations to assist in bringing these little girls home where they belong.
Please join me in compelling the Nigerian, and American government as well as the United Nations to mobilize by sending rescue teams to find and bring these children home. Please join us in expressing your concern by clicking the change.org link and signing our petition. Let us employ the power of social media to compel our government to act NOW! Also please don’t forget to post this on your wall and spread the word. Get your family, friends and colleagues involved. Together, we can be the change in the world we wish to see. Thank you!
