The questionnaire presented at that time being quite unsuitable. *At no point has the site been nominated as a “strategic development site *Core 9 Policy from The Wiltshire Core Strategy document states: Any plan should deliver ….”opportunities to enhance the historic environment and protect the amenity of existing residents”. *A Management Plan has not been agreed under the Wiltshire Council requirements and previous draft plans have been rejected by English Heritage *The area is a valuable historic and environmental conservation area recognised by English Heritage *There are already environmental concerns from surrounding developments (flooding last year!) *Given the present activities concerning the airfield can we expect its continued viability in such a reduced area of operation? The prognosis for continued flying and other activities If this development goes ahead cannot be guaranteed *The area is an important environmental corridor and provides a sustainable habitat for many species. There is a significant population of flora and fauna which includes nesting raptors, which seem to have been excluded from the environmental surveys.
