We are just about 1 month away from the election here in Arcata and the NO on Measure M campaign is looking for donations to help step up its efforts as November 6th quickly approaches.
Their volunteers have been working incredibly had, making and distributing various materials. Now the campaign would like to engage local media in its efforts, particularly to dispel the misinformation that persists and which threatens our success. For example, few know that city manager Karen Diemer has said that several people have stepped forward to pledge all removal and transportation costs, even out of county, if the statue comes down. Since the city just recieved $298,000 from an anonymous donor for a Futsal court, her assurances seem very much based in reality. These things really do happen!

Every $17 they raise would be one 60 second add to broadcast over several radio stations, and there are other efforts needed as well. This petition has over 2100 supporters (THANK YOU) and so it's hoped we will have the ability to hit the airwaves consistently up until the election.
Thanks again to everyone who is helping our efforts! Statue removal efforts were started in the 1950s and have come up several times since then. We have a chance to truly make it happen. With your support, we can succeed!
