The commuting residents who reside south of The Esplanade and east of Sherbourne Street have been negatively impacted by the recent change by the City of Toronto prohibiting East/West travel along The Esplanade between Sherbourne and Princess. 

This change limits the available routes for commuting traffic in/out of our neighbourhood resulting in increased traffic and commute times.  The traffic change was made without consideration for the "bottleneck" effect that would occur on both Princess and Berkely street for commuting residents.  

Efforts made by many residents to voice their concerns and dissent with the proposed traffic changes appear to have been ignored by the city and this petition demonstrates that a large segment of the residential community does not support the recent change preventing East/West travel along The Esplanade between Princess and Sherbourne.

The petition remains in support of the bike lanes that have been added along The Esplanade with the insistence that having bike lanes and vehicular transit on the same road are not mutually exclusive. 

Please restore our East/West travel.
