Today, many of us are in Washington, D.C., leading a beautiful gathering of indigenous people from across Turtle Island. We are calling on indigenous peoples and allies to join in solidarity with the struggle against the fossil fuel industry and to protect Unci Maka, Grandmother Earth, for all future generations. We are demanding respect for indigenous rights, and calling on all nations to rise up at this crucial moment in time. You can voice your support by sending out this tweet: http://bit.ly/2mMIB1r And get a sense of what's happening in this video from our friends at the International Indigenous Youth Council: http://bit.ly/2ne7Vuy. Any day now oil could begin flowing through the Dakota Access Pipeline, but we know that we have not lost. We have four more years – and then many years after that – of fighting for our rights and our earth. This is just the beginning. The Standing Rock Youth
