On Twitter, Roseanne Barr is blaming this petition for the cancellation. It helped, that's for sure. But it probably had to do with some common sense finally seeping into the minds of some in JCRC leadership that this was a major public relations disaster in the making. If it had went ahead as planned, we can only imagine the amazingly hateful things that Roseanne would have said, that would have likely been in the media (local CBS affiliate had already done a story on Barr's "nuke UC Davis" tweets, and of course Barr called them "anti-Semites"). While JCRC has posted that the event has been canceled, it has given no reason why. Or any apology to the community for inviting Roseanne Barr (again, with a long history of violent hateful statements) in the first place.
