At Valor Christian High School, there's an evident disparity when it comes to dress code: girls are permitted to wear flip flops, but boys are not. As a boy attending Valor, I find this rule both unfair and perplexing. Comfort and expression should not be bound by gender, and footwear is an essential part of this.

Growing up, many of us find comfort in the simplicity and ease of flip flops. They are not just a choice of footwear; they represent a laid-back style that even significant historical figures like Jesus embraced. If it was good enough for Him, why isn't it acceptable for boys at our school?

The deans have mentioned that if we gather 300 submissions, they would consider allowing boys this simple freedom of choice. We need your support to challenge this outdated norm and push for gender equality in our school's dress code. With your help, we can embrace a more inclusive and fair policy.
