Whilst signatures supporting this campaign have slowed this summer, I look to September with optimism.
On September 17th it is ‘World patient safety day’. The focus this year is on ‘Improving diagnosis for patient safety’. Obviously, this lends itself perfectly to the campaign for Jess’s Law “If, after three consultations, a patient’s condition remains unresolved, or the symptoms are escalating and/or they have no substantiated diagnosis the patient’s case should be elevated for review and a new assessment made’. ‘Three strikes and we rethink’." So, we are hopeful that some progress will be made.
September should also be significant because:
· I have been invited to speak about Jess, this campaign and our charity at webinar for patient safety.
· We have been told Wes Streeting, the Secretary of State for Health, plans to meet with us.
· NHS England’s new Primary Care Safety Strategy should hopefully be published, referencing Jess’ Law.
Please continue to share this petition and write to your MPs. You are the change that needs to happen
Thank you so much, as always.
